Who we are
TranslationBox is a team of ex-university academics employing native speaker translators from the same or similar backgrounds, with extensive professional experience in translating, teaching, studying and exploring both the target languages and, just as importantly, the associated cultural and social norms and values.
A literal reproduction of the source text is seldom enough. To understand and convey the shades of meaning of a multitude of idiomatic expressions, unique localisms or double meanings marks the frontier between a poorly translated text and successful communication. A professional translation should convey a message across languages and cultures.
We know from experience that poor translation can alter the meaning of an academic paper, debase scientific arguments and can be costly or, in extremis, even dangerous.
Our active approach to translation means such pitfalls are avoided.
